Examples of ways your pennies help

In the first three months of Pennies’ partnership with Domino’s, Special Olympics GB has received a total of £32,390.
Special Olympics GB’s Regional Development Manager, Bob Billson explained: “Domino’s customers donations received through Pennies are already having a great impact in the overall development of Special Olympics Great Britain. Some of the money received will be used to organise and deliver a Sports Leader Tutor Course in early spring this year. This course will benefit up to 30 Special Olympics GB volunteers from all over Great Britain, who will become accredited Sport Leaders UK tutors.”
Bob also commented: “This is an important project for Special Olympics GB and it has the potential to benefit over 1,000 of the charity’s volunteer force.”
The ripples of benefits from Special Olympics GB volunteers will carry on through to the many children and adults with learning disabilities whose lives are positively transformed through sport.
Part of the funds received through Pennies will also contribute to the set up of 15 new clubs this year in addition to the 135 already avaiable. During the first half of 2011 Special Olympics GB will focus in particular on opening five new clubs in London to tie in with the Olympic Games 2012 legacy programme.
