Fun & happiness for disadvantaged children and young people
KidsOut is the only UK charity dedicated to bringing fun and happiness into the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. KidsOut provides practical help and support all over the UK, bringing fun and happiness into the lives of children who otherwise wouldn’t have much to be happy about. The charity’s mission is based on the belief that every child has a right to fun and happiness in their lives, whatever the circumstances they find themselves in.
Through a range of innovative projects, KidsOut help thousands of children who are affected by disadvantage. From great days out to new toys for children affected by domestic violence to multi-media outreach activities for isolated young people, KidsOut delivers life-enhancing experiences that enable children and young people to achieve, have fun, grow in confidence and have much better life chances.
KidsOut aims to help as many children as they can, including the siblings of disadvantaged children, no matter what type of challenges they are facing in their lives. KidsOut define disadvantaged children as those who may:
- Be disabled
- Have a life-limiting illness
- Require help to cope with special educational or emotional needs
- Have escaped from domestic violence
- Come from difficult backgrounds
- Be living in poverty
- Act as young carers, children who spend their lives caring for a family member
- Be socially or rurally isolated
