£500,000 raised as Pennies donations double in six months!

The Pennies movement is gaining momentum as the number of consumer micro-donations made via Pennies has doubled in just six months bringing the total to two million. This has raised £500,000 supporting a growing number of UK charities.

The Pennies scheme, which launched 17 months ago, gives consumers the simple option to donate a few pence to charity with a single touch of a button when they use a debit or credit card to purchase goods and services.

Screwfix joins forces with Pennies to boost its fundraising for Everyman

Screwfix customers can now donate their spare change to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer through Pennies, the electronic charity box. The trade supplier has added Pennies to their website, which lets its customers round up their total order to the nearest pound for the Everyman appeal and other UK charities.

Charitable micro-donations have received a boost as three new online retailers add Pennies the electronic charity box to their websites. Customers of Party Pieces, BuySpares and Contact Lenses Express are now able to donate their ‘spare change’ to charity when making purchases online.
