The first restaurant to go live with Pennies
Next time you’re out for a meal at Zizzi and you pay for your bill by card, take the opportunity to donate 20p to charity. Your pennies will help improve the lives of young people in the UK.
Zizzi launched its partnership with The Prince’s Trust in November 2010, an extension of its Fresh Young Talent initiative. Not only is Zizzi helping to raise money for The Prince’s Trust but it also offers disadvantaged young people the opportunities for work placements in their restaurants. Since their customers have said they’d like the choice to join in and make a difference too, Zizzi have rolled Pennies out across all of their 118 plus restaurants in August 2011.
Here are a few interesting facts about Zizzi:
- Zizzi opened its first restaurant in 1999 in Chiswick (which means cheese farm in Old English), London.
- Zizzi currently has over 118 restaurants throughout the UK
- All Zizzi restaurants have open kitchens with wood-stone ovens where you can watch dishes being freshly prepared.
- Each restaurant is different with themes and features inspired by each location.
