Providing care for over 200,000 children each year
Alder Hey cares for around 270,000 children and young people each year and is the first choice provider of care for around 80% of the UK’s health commissioners. In addition to treating children for everything from a bumped head to a cut finger, Alder Hey also cares for some of the nation’s sickest children across the many specialist national services.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity aims to improve the quality of life for children in hospital by providing the latest medical equipment, improving the environment and facilities and funding essential research. The hospital is embarking on an ambitious project to build the first children’s hospital to be located in a park and will open the doors to patients during 2015 – the year after the hospital celebrates its 100th birthday and Alder Hey Children’s Charity will play a major part in making that hospital the most innovative and child-focused facility in the country.
Your donations have already made a big difference to the appeal and to the children’s hospital, from providing art materials for patients like Emily and music therapy for children like Archie, to helping to cover the cost of putting on Christmas in the wards.
